Oklahoma History, Culture & Economy

Before Europeans arrived in 1541 in what we now call Oklahoma, Native American tribes, including the Ute, Comanche, Osage, Quapaw, Wichita, and Caddo, inhabited the land. In the mid-1600s, French explorer Robert de La Salle claimed the land for the French who established fur trading posts along the rivers in the area.

Oklahoma became the 46th US state in 1907. Its original capital city, Guthrie, was moved to Oklahoma City in 1910. Other major cities include Tulsa, Norman, Broken Arrow, Enid, Moore and Stillwater. The state’s economy today is driven by oil, natural gas, and agriculture, as well as energy, telecommunications, biotechnology, and aviation.

The armed forces of the United States have built a number of military installations in Oklahoma, including Fort Sill, Altus Air Force Base, Tinker Air Force Base, Vance Air Force Base, and the Oklahoma Army National Guard. Colleges and universities include the University of Oklahoma in Norman, Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, the University of Tulsa, and Oral Roberts University in Tulsa.

Whether the need is short-term, long-term or permanent, all of these Oklahoma industries, educational facilities, and military facilities are well-served by cost-effective modular construction.

Modular Building Applications

Education – As population shifts occur, school enrollments ebb and flow. This makes space planning a challenge. If you are a public or private educator or corporate trainer and need fast, flexible teaching space, consider modular classrooms or training facilities. Modular Genius has an outstanding record in constructing modular classrooms, learning cottages, dormitories, daycare facilities, gymnasiums, cafeterias, and complete prefabricated school campuses.

Military & Government – Modular Genius supplies modular government buildings to meet the needs of national park visitor centers and ranger stations, community police and sheriff departments, drug enforcement agencies, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms command centers, and more. We have also completed modular projects for every branch of the U.S. military. We hold a US General Services Administration (GSA) contract, GS-07F-0124W.

HealthcareModular healthcare construction is the quickest way to expand with minimal disruption of your patients and building site. From digital imaging facilities, to medical office space, to testing labs, to patient rooms, nothing is too large or difficult. Modular buildings allow medical and dental clinics, research laboratories and community hospitals to reduce costs, enjoy a higher return on investment, and accelerate construction timelines.

Remote oilfield offices – Modular offices have been a boon to companies working in remote gas and oil fields in Oklahoma, such as the Anadarko Basin, Sooner Trend, Hugoton Gas Field, and Oklahoma City Oil Field. The modular floor plans can include restrooms, secure and insulated moisture-controlled storage buildings, and a variety of other features.
