[CHALLENGE]
A County Government agency was in need of a temporary modular building for their fire department as a bunk house. They needed an the space to be attached to a fabricate structure that housed vehicles.

[SOLUTION]

DCE1 - Temporary Fire House

[CHALLENGE]
Part of a multi-million dollar development throughout Washington DC, a temporary fire station was needed for up to 5 years. Minimal interference was necessary for traffic and surrounding businesses.

[SOLUTION]
Modular Genius provided a two-story 7,300 sqft temporary fire house with many work areas. A fire pole and equipment storage lockers were moved and reused from an existing station. A kitchen, bunks, fitness room, and locker room provide comforts, while the roll up doors allow room for 3 engines.

Joint Task Force - National Capital Region Medical - Modular Fire House Sleeping Quarters

[CHALLENGE]
A local fire hall was updating their existing facilities on a US Government site which required a 3,136 Sq Ft sleeping quarters. The building had to be delivered and installed on a small corner not to disrupt the engine garage or traffic.

[SOLUTION]
Modular Genius constructed, delivered, and installed the facility in 120 days. The building had sleeping quarters, restrooms, showers, meeting area and kitchen. Work consisted of the building being installed on a foundation, with pre-fabricated aluminum stair towers.

LC - Prefabricated District Judges Office

[CHALLENGE]
A local PA government had outgrown their previous courthouse. Needing more conference rooms, holding areas, and security the County chose to purchase a modular building for the task.

[SOLUTION]
Modular Genius provided a 3,500 sqft modular building that includes conference rooms for both the defense and the prosecution, detention benches, and ballistic glass for the clerks. A glass and masonry vestibule was added to the main entrance for access and aesthetics.

NAVFAC - 2 Story Modular Office Building

[CHALLENGE]
The United States military required modular units for classrooms and administrative spaces (offices) for a naval surface warfare advanced training ground.

[SOLUTION]
Modular Genius provided 2 story modular building with a 10,434 sqft footprint. Multiple entrances with aluminum steps and ramps served for exterior accessibility, while an elevator allowed 2nd floor access from the inside. Once the project was under construction, it was completed in less than 60 days.

NPS - Assateague Island - Modular Ranger Station

[CHALLENGE]
The National Park Service was in need of a modular ranger station. However this modular office building was required to architecturally blend in with the natural seashore and wildlife refuge on this pristine barrier island. Additionally, a natural “inviting” appearance and a permanent installation was extremely important for this project.

[SOLUTION]
Modular Genius accomplished these aesthetic challenges by utilizing upgraded Virginia Slate asphalt shingles on the A-frame roof and a natural Cape Cod Gray horizontal vinyl siding with many architectural vinyl accents. Additionally, the building was set above grade on a permanent wood pile foundation and a pad mounted HVAC split-system was utilized. These attributes reinforced the natural “inviting” appearance and permanent application.

NPS - Glacier Bay National Park Offices

[CHALLENGE]
A Government agency in Alaska was in need of modular offices at a remote location. Transport was not accessible by road and the buildings would need to be shipped in by barge.

[SOLUTION]
Modular Genius provided two 40’ x 10’ modular office buildings that were sent from Indiana, to Seattle to Juneau, and then to the final location. The units included laminate wood flooring, conference room with a kitchenette, and a restroom. The project was completed in about 60 days.

NPS - Liberty Island - Temporary Professional Facilities

[CHALLENGE]
The National Park Service needed to create a restroom/locker room, break area and maintenance office to support its renovation projects located on Liberty Island, NY. The project design was required to use low length units to be transported to the island via barge and then be offloaded by way of beach ramp.

[SOLUTION]
Modular Genius provided two modular structures, with the first being (6) 10’x24’ units and the second being (2) 10’x24’ units. Each unit was precisely sized to meet the barge and offloading shipping requirements. All the buildings were designed to function as both detached and interconnected modular units with shared walls; to give NPS the flexibility to relocate or reconfigure the buildings on site to meet different phases of their renovation project.

A U.S. National Park was in need of a building to house free weights and exercise equipment. They decided that a modular building they could lease would give them the most flexibility with schedule and budget.

NPS - President's Park Temporary Visitors Center

[CHALLENGE]
A government agency in Washington, DC was in need of a temporary modular building during the rehabilitation of a visitors center for a national landmark. An open space able to handle heavy traffic was necessary.

[SOLUTION]
Modular Genius provided a 1,400 sqft modular building for assembly use. An upgraded HVAC with humidity control was installed for maximum comfort and efficiency. Wooden ADA steps and ramps were used for function and a warm aesthetic appearance.

UDVA Decatur - Modular Medical Eye Clinic - GA

[CHALLENGE]
The US Department of Veterans Affairs hospital in Georgia was in need of additional space to expand their eye clinic. There was no more room inside the hospital for the expansion. Modular Construction had been decided as the most expeditious way to expand the clinic.

[SOLUTION]
A Service disabled veteran contractor partnered with Modular Genius and built the 2,880 sq ft modular addition. It was attached to the existing hospital. The modular building was constructed with non-combustible materials. The hospital walls were cut out for expansion so one could walk from the existing hospital into the modular addition on the same floor without obstruction.

US Army - Cafeteria

[CHALLENGE]
The US Army was updating facilities on an isolated island which required a 2,160 square foot cafeteria/command center for troops training. The building had to be delivered and installed at the remote location in between exercises so as not to disrupt training.

[SOLUTION]
Modular Genius constructed, delivered, and installed the 2,160 square foot facility in 45 days. Work consisted of the building being installed on a foundation, with site built entrance stairs. The project was delivered on time and within budget.

US Army Corps of Engineers APG

[CHALLENGE]
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers was scheduled to build a chemical defense complex at Aberdeen Proving Ground for the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Chemical Defense, USAMRICD, a government agency charged with protecting the military from chemical and biological attacks. The project needed temporary modular space during construction.

[SOLUTION]
Modular Genius was selected by the Prime site development Contractor of this project to provide 10,000 sq ft of furnished modular office space. Modular Genius designed the space to fit the requirements. The foundation,modular installation and furniture was fabricated and installed within 90 days.

US Army - HME Laboratory Trailer

[Challenge]
The United States Military required space that would be used for the study and training associated with Home Made Explosives (HME). Occupancy of the building within 60 days was mandatory. Certain interior items needed to be explosion proof or non-acid reactive to maintain a safe working environment.

[Solution]
Modular Genius provided a 640 sqft Modular Laboratory Trailer in the short time frame that was required. A specialized fume hood, emergency shower, eyewash station, and cipher locks were installed for the safety and security of the building owners. Extensive cabinetry and surfaces provided ample work space for testing and training.

The US Department of the Army was in need of replacing old Mobile Offices. A nice appearance to blend with the current base environment along with up to date building codes for the new mobile buildings was the requirement.

Each of the main entrances shared a single door with lead to a vestibule with shared restrooms. Each client would then be able to enter their work space and be separate from the other.

US Coast Guard Headquarters, DC

[CHALLENGE]
Creating the largest construction job since the Pentagon in 1940 the Federal Government is renovating and expanding upon former St. Elizabeth’s Hospital. This 4.5 million sq ft campus will house the Headquarters for the US Department of Homeland Security, US Coast Guard and 22 other agencies. During the construction of this mini city workers needed to be housed in modular buildings.

The Marine Corps Base in Quantico, VA was in need of office space for Naval Criminal Investigation Service (NCIS.) US Naval Academy, Maryland

[CHALLENGE]
The US Naval Academy was renovating Nimitz Library and in need of temporary office space during the renovation.The site selected was near the water on the edge of the historic campus.The project was under a tight time constraints and needed to be completed with limited disturbance to the Academy. Modular Genius leased the temporary buildings and furniture as well as connected the phone, data, fire alarms and electric.The location did not have sewer or water therefore Modular Genius brought in temporary water reservoirs and holding tanks for sewage.

USSS - Modular Field Office

VAMC - Prefabricated Mental Health Clinic

[CHALLENGE]
A government facility needed to expand an existing modular medical complex. A small vacant corner of the property was perfect to fit in a new modular building.

[SOLUTION]
Modular Genius provided an additional 60’ x 82’ modular building to match the existing complex on the property. The modular building houses over 15 offices, restrooms, break rooms, conference rooms and storage. The project was completed in the required 120 days.

Modular Swing Space

[CHALLENGE]
A government agency in the process of a major building replacement needed to move its employees to an interim facility.

[SOLUTION]
Modular Genius provided a 9,000 sqft, LEED Silver, slab on grade, permanent modular building. Large open work spaces, along with mutiple offices, conference and break rooms, allow the agency to efficently continue their work. The exterior conforms with the styles of surrounding buildings and will continue to be used after the main construction project is completed.
