The Challenge

Davis Construction wanted to create a modern and efficient construction field office, dubbed “The Field Office of the Future”. They needed a versatile space that could serve multiple functions, including offices, conference areas, and specialized rooms for video teleconferencing and planning. Additionally, the building needed to meet high standards of energy efficiency, sound insulation, and accessibility while being quick to deploy and adaptable to various site conditions.

The Solution

Modular Genius provided Davis Construction with a three unit, 2,160 sq ft modular building that exceeded their expectations for functionality and efficiency. The exterior featured zip sheathing instead of traditional house wrap, enhancing durability and weather resistance. Fixed picture windows offered ample natural light, while tankless hot water heaters and WaterSense fixtures ensured energy and water efficiency. Rockwool sound insulation was installed in the conference room walls to minimize noise disruptions. The design included 6-inch overhangs at end walls with roof drains and downspouts, providing superior water management. ADA-compliant steps and ramps were incorporated for full accessibility. The interior layout included two single-occupant restrooms, an open office space, a conference room, a video teleconferencing room, and a planning table room, meeting all of Davis Construction’s requirements.
